Solo Traveling – NOT Easy

While vacationing with your folks/friends/colleagues, you often think about hopping around at similar places alone, to do what you actually want to do. You don’t have a choice, at that given time, because you are in a group and you are supposed to do, what feels right mutually. But one thought has crossed each and every individual’s mind, more than once in their life time – to travel alone! To go solo to those hills and/or beaches, care less and feel more.

Care more about what you need, and feel less about other every other emotion/person!

But is it safe? We are not saying it’s impossible, we are asking you to be prepared for what you are about unfold, if solo-traveling is one thing, you wish to tick off from your list.

1)      Research and Understanding:

Even if Goa is all about clubbing, booze and beaches; do you really think, you will be able to survive there with no other support? It is important for an individual to understand, if he/she are going to travel alone, they need to know whereabouts of that place, before they land in. Understand the culture in that region, know about the situations or consequences you can be in, places to visit, things to-do, etc.

2)      Worrying About Being Lonely?

Often, when people are traveling in groups, they tend to miss out on places/people/things/elements which are more beautiful than those basic and legendary historical monuments. You can never be lonely, while traveling alone, because you have so much to do/see/feel, that you don’t get time to spare or rest. And that is why; people wish to travel alone – to find peace, solitude and to rediscover themselves.

3)      Only You Can Help Yourself:

There can be plenty of situations and consequences of your doings, when you can be in need of someone, whom you can trust and show faith/confidence in. But you chose this way; in those times, you are expected to show your presence of mind, and be your own help. Life can take miserable turns, at any given time, it totally depends on how you wish to deal with them.

4)      Is It Easy? Would I Be Able To Do It?

If you have enough confidence and strong desires, to be where and how you wish to be at, then it is going to be easier for you. Everyone have their first times for everything, in their lives, it depends on how they learn and treat their mistakes and achievements. Being over confident is one huge mistake, one can commit.

Read more about solo travelers and other people, who share their experiences online. Their experiences are no lesser than a lesson or a teaching, which can come handy, when you are traveling solo! It is a gutsy task to do, but the fruitful results are the unexplored parts of you. And you cannot miss out on them!

One has the freedom of choice to do whatever they want, until they are not breaking any rules. And this is, definitely, not against any law. Because, after watching and acting out the same schedule, for the entire day, throughout the year; they shall get those days too, when they get up late and are treated nicely. People need to understand, that everyone is not as crazy as others are, about the festive season. And, during such festivals, one shall be at rest. For many, it must include chilling with friends, but for the other type of people, it would be better enough, if they can just be home bounded, around people, whom they love.

Especially, in Northern Regions like Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, NOIDA, Gurgaon, Haryana, etc; Dussehra and Diwali are celebrated on huge scales. And, to save yourself from these elements of pollution and noise, pack your bags and travel to the nearby hill stations like Nainital, Bhimtal, Naukuchiatal, Mukteshwar, Manali, Kullu, Mussoorie, etc. It will turn out to be just another long weekend getaway, where you will be able to celebrate those festivals only with your close friends/partner/family members, and people, whom you love.

Level Up The Way You Travel – Smart Ways To Explore!

Usually your plans are spontaneously fashioned and executed within next four days, when you are short on time and don’t have a lavish budget to set up your relaxed vacation. This calls for urgent pointers to be listed on your notepad, and used to untangle the process, so that you do not miss out on anything. You deserve a peaceful and fun vacation after slogging onto your desks/books, for months; and if you do not do plan it up, it leads to several disappointments. We don’t wish you to go on a vacation, which has more of “Shit! We should have done this” instead of “Woohoo! And Yay! Told you.”

You might have several ideas in mind, when you think of going to beaches and different back-end thought process when you have desires of visiting a hill station, for your vacation. Following are few pointers, which will help you to collect similar ideas, towards your way of travelling to your destination, packing stuff and what to carry:

1)      Travel Smart:

We all know, we should travel light, but are we being smart; simultaneously? It is an emerging need to know what we have in our luggage, is enough to survive, in those days of vacation. From clothes to skin-protective lotions, appropriate footwear, chargers and different chords to  compass and guide book, keeping emergency numbers handy, updating and making yourself aware about the locations before visiting, marking landmarks on your map – to save your time and cost, first-aid and bandages, etc.

2)      Transportation:

Your sudden trips will never include places, beyond 400kms, away from your current location. That gives you roadways and railways, as options, to travel. Generally, it is hard to book railway tickets, on such short notice and for roadways, all you can think of is renting cars or buy fuel for your own ones. How about you travel comfortably and save cost? Book travelers, buses or caravans, to travel, and divide the cost equally. This adds up to fun and comfort, altogether.

3)      Make It Different – Ditch Hotels!

Maximizing your comfort by staying in hotels andresorts and relaxing your saturated way of living? Isn’t it ironic for people to call their trips to mountains, adventurous, while staying at hotels and resting their heads on comforting pillows? Ditch hotels/resorts, do not let them spoil your further and design your way to leisure. You have limited number of days for this vacation, and you choose to stay indoors, in ambient lighting, eating proper food, etc – which you usually do, like every day? Book camps/motels/ ashrams, etc; this helps in enjoying the trip, out of your comfort zone, and networking throughout.
4)      Do Not Go For Travel Agents/Guide:

It kills your spirit, who wants to explore beyond time limits, and desire to experiment. Do not let the agents and guide decide good or bad for you; if you are on this trip, only you should decide, what can be done with your money involved. Especially, when they are handling a large group of people, they tend to be more protective, cutting out on the fun part! They have already explored the positivity of nature and timed your stay, what is your work then? What are you there for – to watch and witness the beauty? You can do that on your laptops too!

5)      Don’t Flash Your Tourist-Card, Become A Local:

You know what and how you are supposed to carry your #travelmood around, what are you waiting for? Indulge yourself into the cuisines and colors of that city, and call it your own! Don’t be a tourist and visit just the monuments/famous places in the name of vacation, get inside those narrow streets to taste the real essence of your destination – that is how you travel around and know the city. Beyond what some famous human did at that place; know what the locals are upto, dress/eat like them, buy what you think is unique, walk/ride but ditch cars (PLEASE), etc. Just become one of them!

Those lavish restaurants and comfortable beddings shall never be the goals, of your vacation. Try getting into those shoes, which have roamed around the city and are better guides to you, than your regular agents. Ditch plenty of things, in number of ways, and stop commercializing your ways of fun. Be pure and natural, feel and observe – instead of capturing and getting your fancy cover pictures, make your presence count in present. Pack your bags ‘smartly’, get all your necessities (which do not include your make up or portable power banks), collect your thoughts in mind and persons accompanying you, get your #travelmood ON and vanish!
